What is it used for?

  • Assessing Functional Sensation and innervation density.

How to Perform

  • Tool: Use a specialized disk or caliper.
  • Action: Touch the fingertip with one or two points randomly.
  • Limit: Determine the smallest distance the patient can distinguish as two points.

Interpretation of Results

  • Normal: < 6mm.
  • Fair: 6-10mm.
  • Poor: 11-15mm.
