What is it used for?
- Reducing a dislocated hip in newborns with Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH).
How to Perform
- Position: Infant supine.
- Action: Flex hips/knees to 90°. Gently Abduct the hip while lifting the greater trochanter anteriorly.
Interpretation of Results
- Positive Test: A palpable "clunk" is felt as the femoral head slides back into the acetabulum (Reduction).
Diagnostic Accuracy
- Sensitivity: 66% (declines after 3 months of age).
