What is it used for?
- Diagnosing Iliotibial Band Friction Syndrome (Runner's Knee).
How to Perform
- Position: Patient lies supine.
- Action: Examiner flexes the patient's knee to 90°.
- Compression: Apply pressure to the lateral femoral epicondyle with the thumb while passively extending the knee.
Interpretation of Results
- Positive Test: Severe pain under the thumb at approximately 30° of flexion (where the ITB rubs over the epicondyle).
