FADDIR Test Orthopedic Special Test

What is it used for?

  • Diagnosing Femoroacetabular Impingement (FAI) and Anterior Labral Tears.
  • FADDIR: Flexion, ADDuction, Internal Rotation.

How to Perform

  • Position: Patient lies supine.
  • Action: Flex the hip to 90°, then Adduct and Internally Rotate the hip.

Interpretation of Results

  • Positive Test: Reproduction of groin pain, with or without a mechanical click.

Diagnostic Accuracy

  • Sensitivity: 90-99% (Excellent screening test).
  • Specificity: Low (False positives are common).
