What is it used for?
- Diagnosing TOS caused by compression between the clavicle and first rib.
How to Perform
- Position: Patient stands in a 'Military' posture (shoulders drawn back and down).
- Action: Examiner palpates the radial pulse while the patient extends their neck.
Interpretation of Results
- Positive Test: Absence of radial pulse.
- Why: Depressing the shoulders narrows the costoclavicular space, compressing the artery.
