What is it used for?
- Assessing Arterial Blood Flow (Radial/Ulnar Artery Patency).
How to Perform
- Step 1: Patient makes a tight fist. Examiner occludes both radial and ulnar arteries.
- Step 2: Patient opens hand (palm is pale).
- Step 3: Release one artery and watch for color return. Repeat for the other artery.
Interpretation of Results
- Normal: Hand flushes red within 3-5 seconds.
- Positive: Persistent pallor (>5s) indicates arterial occlusion.

- Sensitivity: 73%
- Specificity: 97%
